When it comes to Evans, he just debuted in February and is young. To me nothing is wrong if he wins a battle royal and has good showings then loses to vets like Ethan Page. He’s 4 months in. I also feel that A lot of people tuned into the battle royal because they said people from “multiple locker rooms” will show up.

So, in 1999 and 2000 when WCW was losing fans in droves, it was because of Bischoff and Russo’s bad booking. Same for Russo and TNA in the mid 2000s But today, when AEW is losing fans in droves, the booking doesn’t matter. Come in Bryan, you’re better than this. And the fact that we’re having these conversations on the same shows taking about the death of WCW is just a bad look.

“Good matches” don’t mean shit to the bottom line. Pro wrestling isn’t about good matches. It’s about making the fans feel sad, happy, angry etc. AEW isn’t for pro wrestling fans. AEW is JUST for AEW fans.

Work rate doesn’t equal ratings, something Dave and Bryan can’t seem to wrap their heads around. The quality of the show definitely correlates to ratings, but that has little to do with work rate. Dynamite has great work rate and nothing else to tune into on a regular basis. The continued unwillingness to face the fact that aew can simultaneously be a good wrestling show and a terrible tv show is legitimately hurting their product.
